He said, "Should other than Allah I seek for you a god, while He has preferred you over the worlds?"
View 82 More Translations ↓[And] he said: "Am I to seek for you a deity other than God, although it is He who has favoured you above all other people?"
He said, 'What, shall I seek a god for you other than God, who has preferred you above all beings?
He said: "Shall I seek for you a god other than the (true) God, when it is God Who hath endowed you with gifts above the nations?"
قَالَ أَغَيْرَ ٱللَّهِ أَبْغِيكُمْ إِلَـٰهًۭا وَهُوَ فَضَّلَكُمْ عَلَى ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ١٤٠
qāla aghayra l-lahi abghīkum ilāhan wahuwa faḍḍalakum ʿalā l-ʿālamīn
